Event Tab

This topic covers the Setup tasks available on the Event Tab which includes the following child forms:

  • event types
  • fee categories
  • session/track types
  • event category

Once you expand the child forms under the Event Tab, you can see icons that allow you to perform the following actions on the page:

  • Use the
go to goto record icon to view that record's profile page.
  • Use the
edit icon to edit a record on the child form.
  • Use the
linked headings to sort the records.

Event Types

Event Type
The type of program, occasion, or event activity. The Event Type is used for tracking purposes.

Example: Examples of Event Types: seminar, workshop, lecture, silent auction, exhibit show.

To Add an Event Type:

  1. Go to Modules > Events > Overview > Events Setup > Event Tab
  2. On the event type child form, click the Add icon.
  3. In the Add - Events Type window, enter an event type code.
  4. Click Save. The new event type appears in the list under the event types child form.

Fee Categories

Event Fee Category
The type of event fee.
Examples: Examples of Event Fees and Event Fee categories:
  • Session Fee: presentation, special event, breakfast, workshop, tour
  • Registration Fee: full registration (3 days), 1-day registration
  • Member Fee: non-member rate, member rate, student member rate
  • Discount Fee: sponsor discount, speaker discount

To Add an Event Fee Category:

  1. Go to Modules > Event > Overview > Events Setup > Event Tab
  2. On the fee categories child form, click the Add icon.
  3. In the Add - Event Fee Category window, enter a fee category code.
  4. Enter a fee category description (optional).
  5. Click Save. The new fee category appears in the list under the fee categories child form.

Session/Track Types

Session Types

Session Type
A function taking place at the event.

Example: Examples of Session Types: a presentation, discussion, dining event, exhibition, award presentation, or reception.

Track Type
Represent a specific area of interest or specialization within a given session or topic, or can be based on level of ability (beginner, intermediate, advanced). A track type may be used to categorize a series or group of sessions.

Example: Examples of Event Track Types: international issues, future trends, current technology.

To Add an Event Session or Track Type:

  1. Go to Modules > Event > Overview > Events Setup > Event Tab.
  2. On the event/session track type child form, click the Add icon.
  3. In the Add - Events Session-Track Type window, enter the session type or the track type.
  4. Click Save. The new session or track appears in the list under the session / track types child form.

Event Category

Event Category
Another way of further classifying an event usually in a more specific manner than an Event Type.

Example: Examples of Event Categories: site tour, panel discussion, wine and dine, awards dinner.

To Add an Event Category:

  1. Go to Modules > Event > Overview > Events Setup > Event Tab.
  2. On the event category child form, click the Add icon.
  3. In the Add - Event Type window, enter an event category.
  4. Click Save. The new event category appears in the list under the event category child form.
